Receive the Kingdom

Receive the Kingdom

Mark 10:13 – Now people were bringing little children to him for him to touch, but the disciples scolded those who brought them. 14 – But when Jesus saw this, he was indignant and said to them, “Let the little children come to me and do not try to stop them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 15 – I tell you the truth, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.” 16 – After he took the children in his arms, he placed his hands on them and blessed them.

Do not try to stop the children from coming to Jesus.  If we keep the children from entering the kingdom then we ourselves won’t enter either.  Do adults ever become so advanced in age compared to children that they would become significantly closer to Jesus?  The sad reality is that sometimes the older we get the further from Jesus we become compared to children.

Most of us stop our cars to accommodate ducks and geese crossing the road with their young.  Why can’t we afford the same courtesy to children?  Let’s pause our busy lives and pay attention to the children.  Help parents bring them to Jesus.  Let’s receive the kingdom together.  I guarantee you when Jesus comes again we will all be slack-jawed and wide-eyed with wonder.  No one will say, ‘Oh I’ve seen this before on TV.’

But just as it is written, “Things that no eye has seen, or ear heard, or mind imagined, are the things God has prepared for those who love him.” God has revealed these to us by the Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. – 1 Corinthians 2:9-10.

May Jesus take us in His arms, as all His children, and bless us today!
