Preaching Repentance

Preaching Repentance

Mark 6:7 – Jesus called the twelve and began to send them out two by two. He gave them authority over the unclean spirits. 8 – He instructed them to take nothing for the journey except a staff – no bread, no bag, no money in their belts – 9 – and to put on sandals but not to wear two tunics.

verse 10 – He said to them, “Wherever you enter a house, stay there until you leave the area. 11 – If a place will not welcome you or listen to you, as you go out from there, shake the dust off your feet as a testimony against them.” 12 – So they went out and preached that all should repent. 13 – They cast out many demons and anointed many sick people with oil and healed them.

The twelve were given power to remove almost every obstacle standing in the way of preaching the message that all should repent.  Casting out demons and healing the sick was all done so they could deliver the message of the gospel in the power of Jesus.  The only thing they did not have power or authority to do was force people to welcome them.

Today thousands of messengers have been called by God to deliver His message of repentance and hope.  Demons and sickness will attempt to stand between you and Jesus.  The decision of welcoming the messengers of Jesus into your life is yours to make and will not be forced onto you.  May all the power of Jesus enable you to hear the gospel message and repent.

Have a blessed Sabbath!
