Moving Land and Sea

Moving Land and Sea

Genesis 1:9 – God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place and let dry ground appear.” It was so. 10 – God called the dry ground “land” and the gathered waters he called “seas.” God saw that it was good.

Beginning at creation we see that God is a specialist at moving land and sea in order to make favorable conditions for His people.  When leaving Egypt, God moved the Red Sea to make a dry path for His people to walk through and find safety.  The waters parted when Elijah struck them with his cloak making a path for himself and Elisha.  The waters parted again for Elisha using the same cloak after he witnessed Elijah being carried up to heaven.

Elisha asked the question “Where is the LORD, THE God of Elijah?” when he hit the water.  Sometimes in frustration, grief, or fear we may ask the same question – Where is God?  And it will be at those times when it all seems impossible that God will move land and sea to save His people.

In the words of Moses – “Do not fear! Stand firm and see the salvation of the LORD that he will provide for you today; for the Egyptians that you see today you will never, ever see again. The LORD will fight for you, and you can be still.” – Exodus 14:13-14.

Jesus, the Lord of creation is not limited by land or sea or anything else in all creation for He is the Creator and He is our Savior – Not even death could stop Him.  Let’s see His salvation today.  Through the cross and rising from the grave, Jesus opened a path that will take us from earth to heaven when He returns.

Let Jesus move land, sea, life and death for you today – for with Him nothing is impossible!
