Walk Away from Worry

Walk Away from Worry

Matthew 27:57 – Now when it was evening, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who was also a disciple of Jesus. 58 – He went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. Then Pilate ordered that it be given to him. 59 – Joseph took the body, wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, 60 – and placed it in his own new tomb that he had cut in the rock. Then he rolled a great stone across the entrance of the tomb and went away.

When it was evening Sabbath had come.  Joseph from Arimathea asked for and received the body of Jesus.  I can picture Joseph gently and reverently handling the body of Jesus.  Jesus had no home and no tomb.  Joseph’s tomb was brand new, freshly cut out of the rock – he placed the body of Jesus within, rolled a great stone over the entrance and went away.  The work of Christ had ended.  He finished it.

Another week has ended.  We may or may not be satisfied with the work we’ve completed – but now we’re within the hours of the Sabbath which Jesus blessed when He rested at creation and then rested again in the tomb.  Let’s lay a great stone over the week and walk away from our worries and worship Jesus.  Let’s be satisfied with the work He finished to save us.  A new day is coming filled with the presence of Jesus and all His angels.  Let’s rest in the blessed hope today!

Have a wonderful Sabbath!
