This is Jesus

This is Jesus

Matthew 27:37 – Above his head they put the charge against him, which read: “This is Jesus, the king of the Jews.”

The gospel of John provides greater detail regarding this charge.

Pilate also had a notice written and fastened to the cross, which read: “Jesus the Nazarene, the king of the Jews.” Thus many of the Jewish residents of Jerusalem read this notice, because the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city, and the notice was written in Aramaic, Latin, and Greek. Then the chief priests of the Jews said to Pilate, “Do not write, ‘The king of the Jews,’ but rather, ‘This man said, I am king of the Jews.’” Pilate answered, “What I have written, I have written.” – John 19:19-22.

The chief priests were denied.  In their hour of power against Jesus they did everything they possibly could to Jesus – but they could not get Pilate to change the words of the notice.  At the crucifixion’s most critical point in time they could not control the information.  They could not diminish the truth:  This is Jesus, the king of the Jews.

It will be the same at the end.  The devil and his agents are desperately trying to control information and they are succeeding in deceiving many but at the most critical hour in time the truth will be made plain as every eye will see the same Jesus coming in the clouds of heaven.  This is Jesus, King of kings and Lord of lords.

Attempts to spin Jesus’ coming as something else will fall flat.  All of us will witness the truth as we will recognize Jesus from the gospel that has been preached to us and to the whole world.  Remember the end won’t come until the gospel has reached everyone. What has been written has been written.

This is Jesus.  Once on the cross and soon to return in the clouds.  This is Jesus.
