Always King

Always King

Psalms 93:1 – The LORD reigns! He is robed in majesty, the LORD is robed, he wears strength around his waist. Indeed, the world is established, it cannot be moved. 2 – Your throne has been secure from ancient times; you have always been king.

verse 4 – The waves roar, O LORD, the waves roar, the waves roar and crash. 4 – Above the sound of the surging water, and the mighty waves of the sea, the LORD sits enthroned in majesty. 5 – The rules you set down are completely reliable. Holiness aptly adorns your house, O LORD, forever.

Years ago I had the privilege on standing at the shores of the Indian Ocean, watching the waves roll in one after the other, and staring out into what seemed like an endless expanse of water.  The Psalmist associated the imagery of sea waves with the ancient throne of the LORD.

If you’ve ever been at the shores of any of the world’s oceans or have been in them from the vantage point of a boat and have looked out into the surging waters and mighty waves – know that God’s throne is endless.  It is secure.  He has always been king and always will be king.  Satan desires to sit as king.  He has tried to take God from His throne and sit as the most high – but he has failed.  Satan is defeated.

Let’s be reassured in the security of God, in the reliability of His rules that govern our existence and in His immeasurable strength.  The Lord reigns!  May He reign in our lives today!
