Jesus at War

Jesus at War

Revelation 19:11 – Then I saw heaven opened and here came a white horse! The one riding it was called “Faithful” and “True,” and with Justice he judges and goes to war. 12 – His eyes are like a fiery flame and there are many diadem crowns on his head. He has a name written that no one knows except himself. 13 – He is dressed in clothing dipped in blood, and he is called the Word of God.

verse 14 – The armies that are in heaven, dressed in white, clean, fine linen, were following him on white horses. 15 – From his mouth extends a sharp sword, so that with it he can strike the nations. He will rule them with an iron rod, and he stomps the winepress of the furious wrath of God, the All-Powerful. 16 – He has a name written on his clothing and on his thigh: “King of kings and Lord of lords.”

Jesus is the Son of God.  He is the Word of God.  He is the way, the truth, and the Life.  He is Faithful.  He will arrive on His horse with His army and will go to war against the beast and its allies, the kings of the earth.  This is referenced in Revelation 17:13 and 14 – These kings have a single intent, and they will give their power and authority to the beast. They will make war with the Lamb, but the Lamb will conquer them, because he is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those accompanying the Lamb are the called, chosen, and faithful.

Can you imagine – all the military forces of the world united together, training their super-secret, advanced weaponry on Jesus Christ and His army of angels?  And the world will lose because they listened to lies when they could have listened to the truth.

Before Jesus went to the cross He had this conversation with Pilate:  Jesus replied, “My kingdom is not from this world.  If my kingdom were from this world, my servants would be fighting to keep me from being handed over to the Jewish authorities. But as it is, my kingdom is not from here.” Then Pilate said, “So you are a king!” Jesus replied, “You say that I am a king. For this reason I was born, and for this reason I came into the world – to testify to the truth. Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice.” – John 18:36, 37.

Pilate had the chance to listen to the voice of God as do we all.  Many expected Jesus to be delivered from the Romans by His heavenly armies, but the kingdoms of the world had not yet become the kingdoms of God.  Instead, they watched Jesus suffer and die on the cross – dying for all our sins.  The day is coming when the ownership of this world will return to Jesus, the rightful ruler.  “And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven  saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.” – Revelation 11:15.

The Jews manipulated the Romans into condemning Jesus – torturing Him and crucifying Him and Jesus chose to be defenseless so as to carry out His Father’s will to save us.  A time is coming not far into the future when the number of the saved will finally be determined and when Jesus returns the beast will manipulate the world into a full-scale global assault against Him.  Only this time Jesus will not be defenseless.  The kingdoms of the world now belong to Jesus and His servants will fight to keep Jesus from being taken.  The Bible has already declared the outcome.   The truth will be on display for all to see.  In the war between truth and lies, the truth will finally win!  Jesus wins!

Today, we yet have another opportunity to listen to the voice of Jesus and belong to the Truth.  We can enter the battlefield today as conquerors with Jesus as our King.  Be of good cheer!  As tough as the fight may be for you today, Jesus will always win and He’s coming back for you!
