Strips of Cloth

Strips of Cloth

Luke 2:12 – “This will be a sign for you: You will find a baby wrapped in strips of cloth and lying in a manger.”

The shepherds were to look for a very distinct sign.  A baby wrapped in strips of cloth and lying in a manger.  There would be no second guesses.  There would not be multiple babies in a NICU stable wrapped in ‘Bethlehem general hospital’ branded cloth strips placed in wooden incubators with candle bili-lights burning.  There would be only one baby identified by the sign given in Luke 2:12.  This was only the beginning.

The ending will be just as distinct.  However, it will not be finding Jesus wrapped in strips of cloth entombed in a grave.  It will be the return of our living, resurrected Savior, Jesus Christ.

He is dressed in clothing dipped in blood, and he is called the Word of God. the armies that are in heaven, dressed in white, clean, fine linen, were following him on white horses. From his mouth extends a sharp sword, so that with it he can strike the nations. He will rule them with an iron rod, and he stomps the winepress of the furious wrath of God, the All-Powerful. He has a name written on his clothing and on his thigh: “King of kings and Lord of lords.” – Revelation 19:13-16.

There will be only One dressed in clothing dipped in blood and labeled with “King of kings and Lord of lords.”  From strips of cloth to blood dipped clothing.  Beginning in a manger then returning in the skies with His heavenly armies.  There will be no mistake regarding the identity of our eternal King.  He is our Savior, Christ the Lord!
