Room and Ready

Room and Ready

Luke 2:6 – While they were there, the time came for her to deliver her child. 7 – And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in strips of cloth and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.

The time came for pregnant Mary to deliver her child, but there was no place except the place of the manger and no one ready but wise men and shepherds.

At a future time, not too far from now the day of the Lord will come like labor pains on a pregnant woman and there will be no place to escape and no one ready but children of light. (see 1 Thessalonians 5:3)

For you all are sons of the light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of the darkness. So then we must not sleep as the rest, but must stay alert and sober. For those who sleep, sleep at night and those who get drunk are drunk at night. But since we are of the day, we must stay sober by putting on the breastplate of faith and love as a helmet our hope for salvation. For God did not destine us for wrath but for gaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. – 1 Thessalonians 5:5-9.

Today, let’s make room for Jesus in our hearts and live in constant readiness for the day of His soon return!
