Lead to the Red Sea

Lead to the Red Sea

Exodus 13:17 – When Pharaoh released the people, God did not lead them by the way to the land of the Philistines, although that was nearby, for God said, “Lest the people change their minds and return to Egypt when they experience war.” 18 – So God brought the people around by the way of the desert to the Red Sea, and the Israelites went up from the land of Egypt prepared for battle.

The Israelites were prepared for battle but they were not ready for war.  God determined that dealing with water would be better than dealing with combat.  God could have delivered them through either challenge but He knew how far their faith would reach.

Now the LORD was going before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead them in the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel day or night. he did not remove the pillar of cloud by day nor the pillar of fire by night from before the people. – Exodus 13:21, 22.

God knows how far our faith will reach and promises to go before us.  He will lead us through every impossible situation whether it is circumstances like the Red Sea or confrontations with people.  Let us trust Him and know that His presence is always near in our times of need!
