The Dreams Came True

The Dreams Came True

Genesis 45:25 – So they went up from Egypt and came to their father Jacob in the land of Canaan. 26 – They told him, “Joseph is still alive and he is ruler over all the land of Egypt!” Jacob was stunned, for he did not believe them. 27 – But when they related to him everything Joseph had said to them, and when he saw the wagons that Joseph had sent to transport him, their father Jacob’s spirit revived. 28 – Then Israel said, “Enough! My son Joseph is still alive! I will go and see him before I die.”

Jacob had grieved terribly for his son Joseph when his older sons returned years ago with the report of his death.  He didn’t doubt them despite Joseph’s curious dreams that would go unfulfilled, or so it seemed.  Then Jacob’s spirit revived at the report that Joseph was actually alive.  He didn’t believe his sons at first until he saw the wagons.  Something about this act of consideration had Joseph written all over it and he began to believe again.  Joseph was alive and he was ruler of all Egypt!  Joseph’s dreams came true!

There’s another dream that is going to come true:  Jesus is going to come back to this earth again and awaken those who have died believing in Him.  The Bible says we who are alive and remain will meet the Lord in the air with those who have been awakened from their sleep of death.  Read the words for yourself!

For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, so also we believe that God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep as Christians. For we tell you this by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will surely not go ahead of those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a shout of command, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are live, who are left, will be suddenly caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will always be with the Lord. Therefore encourage one another with these words. – 1 Thessalonians 4:14-18.

If you can picture how stunned Jacob was at the report that his beloved Joseph was alive and ruler over all Egypt, imagine how stunned we will all be to see Jesus coming in the clouds!  Imagine how stunned we will be when our bodies will change from mortal to immortal in the blink of an eye (1 Corinthians 15:52)! Imagine how stunned we will be to meet the Lord in the air, defying gravity!  Imagine how stunned we will be to reunite with our loved ones who died believing in Jesus!

The dreams will come true!  Let your spirit revive witih the blessed hope today!
