The Lord is With You

The Lord is With You

Genesis 26:26 – Now Abimelech had come to him from Gerar along with Ahuzzah his friend and Phicol the commander of his army. 27 – Isaac asked them, “Why have you come to me? You hate me and sent me away from you.” 28 – They replied, “We could plainly see that the LORD is with you. So we decided there should be a pact between us – between us and you.  Allow us to make a treaty with you.

Isaac had grown very rich in the territory of Abimelech – so rich that Abimelech sent him away. Abimelech was afraid of how powerful Isaac had become.  Today’s verses indicate that Abimelech had noticed something else.  Abimeleh said these words:  “We could plainly see that the LORD is with you.”

What about our relationship with God?  Is our connection to God obvious to others?

Check out these verses in Philippians 4 – Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I say, rejoice! Let everyone see your gentleness. The Lord is near! Do not be anxious about anything. Instead, in every situation, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, tell your requests to God. And the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

May the peace of God that surpasses all understanding guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus – so that we will not fear or worry about the things that the world worries about.  The Lord is near.  He wants to be with you like He was with Isaac and Abraham.  May our connection to God become so obvious that those who see it may want a connection with God for themselves.

Rejoice in the Lord today knowing that He is with you!
