The Jesus Team
Luke 8:1 – Some time afterward he went on through towns and villages, preaching and proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God. The twelve were with him, 2 – and also some women who had been healed of evil spirits and disabilities: Mary (called Magdalene), from whom seven demons had gone out, 3 – and Joanna the wife of Cuza (Herod’s household manager), Susanna, and many others who provided for them out of their own resources.
There were more people traveling with Jesus than just the twelve disciples. Three women were named among many others who provided for the needs of Jesus. Many people believed in the work Jesus was doing and were determined to make sure He could keep doing it. A formidable team of gospel workers and formed around Jesus.
We can part of the Jesus team too! The good news of the kingdom of God still needs to be preached and proclaimed in our corners of the world. Many of you have stories like Mary, Joanna, and Susanna, along with the disciples. Let’s work together with Jesus to make sure the good news gets to our towns and villages today!
