According to the Word

According to the Word

Luke 1:35 – The angel replied, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore the child to be born will be holy; he will be called the Son of God. 36 – “And look, your relative Elizabeth has also become pregnant with a son in her old age – although she was called barren, she is now in her sixth month! 37 – For nothing will be impossible with God.”

verse 38 – So Mary said, “Yes, I am a servant of the Lord; let this happen to me according to your word.” Then the angel departed from her.

Nothing will be impossible. Pregnancy in old age for Elizabeth. Pregnancy without sexual relations for Mary. Mary would be carrying the Son of God. The Holy Spirit and the Most High would make this happen.

All of this happened to guarantee the possibility of everyone being redeemed, including you and me. There is no way humanity could accomplish these things on their own. God Himself: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit formed a plan to redeem us all and then presented the plan to the prophets who published it so everyone could have access to it.

As Mary submitted herself to being the Lord’s servant and permitted the plan to go ahead in her life to carry Jesus, the Savior of the world. Let us also submit ourselves to God and let salvation happen to us according to the Word of God and His plan for our lives.

Let’s spend more time going over the plan as presented in the Bible. God’s plan will certainly interfere with the world’s plan for our future. But only God’s plan will succeed. “For nothing will be impossible with God.”
