Jesus is All the Good

Jesus is all the Good

Mark 1:9 – Now in those days Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan river. 10 – And just as Jesus was coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens splitting apart and the Spirit descending on him like a dove.

Verse 11 – And a voice came from heaven: “You are my one dear Son; in you I take great delight.” 12 – the Spirit immediately drove him into the wilderness. 13 – He was in the wilderness forty days enduring temptations from Satan. He was with wild animals, and angels were ministering to his needs.

Baptism to wilderness. Great delight from the Father to enduring 40 days of temptations from Satan. Wild animals to angels. The life of Jesus was filled with contrasts. When I look at my own life, sometimes all I see is the wilderness, temptations, and wild animals. How about you?

Let’s take a closer look at Jesus and discover again that He was sent to us so that we could be born again in baptism. He was sent to us because of the great love the Father has for us. We will also receive the ministry of the angels to help us. Our lives are filled with similar contrasts like Jesus. It’s not all bad. In fact, the Bible tells us that there is a lot of good. Jesus is all the good.

Dear Lord Jesus, help us to see, by faith, your goodness in our lives especially when all we can see is the bad. Thank-you for your unfailing love! Amen!
