Great Delight in Jesus
Matthew 3:13 – Then Jesus came from Galilee to John to be baptized by him in the Jordan River. 14 – But John tried to prevent him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, and yet you come to me? 15 – So Jesus replied to him, “Let it happen now, for it is right for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John yielded to him.
Verse 16 – After Jesus was baptized, just as he was coming up out of the water, the heavens opened and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming on him. 17- And a voice from heaven said, “This is my one dear Son; in him I take great delight.”
Psalm 37:3 says – Trust in the LORD and do good. Dwell in the land and feed on faithfulness. 4 – Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart. 5 – Commit your way to the LORD; Trust him, and he will act. 6 – He will bring forth your righteousness as a light, and your justice as the noonday sun.
Father, Son, Spirit, and John were present the day of Jesus’ baptism to fulfill all righteousness. This was done in order to give humanity it’s greatest desire – eternal life with Jesus Christ. Let us delight in Jesus Christ and entrust our future to Him and watch as He acts on our behalf to make it happen.
