Wake up Call of Jesus
John 11:11 – These were the things he said. Then after this, he told them, “Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but I’m leaving to wake him up.” 12 – So the disciples told him, “Lord, if he has fallen asleep, he will get well.” 13 – Jesus, however, had been speaking about his death, but they thought that he was speaking about resting or sleeping.
Yesterday we held a funeral service for a dear member of our church family who had fallen asleep in death like Lazarus. One day soon, Jesus will be leaving heaven to wake her up and many others like her.
May we all take comfort and give comfort to each other this Sabbath day with the promises of Jesus that state: “…the Lord himself will come down from heaven, and the dead who belong to the Messiah will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up in the clouds together with them to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.” – 1 Thessalonians 4:16,17.
